Collages (Magazine Cut-outs, Foam, Paint, Sparkles and Card Paper)
The first thing I had to do was a couple of collages.
The first one I did, was with some foam stickers. I used a stencil and drew the shape of a cupcake. Then after sticking them on, I added some soft material flowers to it. I used more foam sticker and I cut it up and stuck it on to create the feeling of some fruits. I then used some sparkly flowers to stick on the muffin connecting to the wrapper.
For the title, I used some tip-ex for the title to make the title stand out from the background, since it was black. For the background, I used oil pastels to create the sense of color not just plain black

For the second page of collages, I used some magazine cut-outs for the wrappers. Then for the cake itself, I used some colored paper and drew on it. For the cherries, I used more magazine cut-outs.
For the background, I used some ready made paper ribbons to divide the 2 cupcakes. then with oil pastels, I wrote collages, in bright colors.

For the cupcake, I used the Matisse idea to create the different levels of frosting. For the title, I cut out the letters in different colors. Then for the shadow, I used some straight paper to create long and short lines.
Artist Reference (Tissue Paper Background)
As part of our homework, we had to find an artist who uses cakes and party's in his work.
I chose Jeffrey Koons, he makes structures in a very large scale. His works of art usually contain mustaches. He worked as an artist reference because we were looking at scale when we were creating our cakes.

For the background of all 3 pages, I ripped some tissue and randomly stuck it on the black page so that when I wrote, the black pen could be seen.
I supplied a couple of pictures of his works including cakes and party's but also including some of his other work like the 5 tulips made out of colored stainless steel.
Also the Yorkshire Terrier he made which was about 40+feet tall. It was made entirely out of real flowers which have to be watered everyday.

Paintings (Water Colors and Acrylic Paints)
I then had to do 2-3 paintings. On the first page, I did a big cupcake, the frosting was blue and had a very round texture. For the wrapper, I painted the base yellow, then from the bottom up, I painted it orange half way. Around the cupcake, I used some of the leftover paint and painted around the cake.
For the background, I used some light colored pastels and created a checkered like pattern. Then with the white pastel, I made dots where some of the lines connected.

For the title, I used a stencil with letters and drew it in pencil, then I used the leftover paints to paint it in. Then with the white pastel, I went around the letters to make them stand out.
For the first cupcake, I used the acrylic paint to get the texture of fluffy. Then using the red color, I painted a cherry. With some paint, I painted the wrapper with some yellow, orange and blue colors.
For the second cake, I used watercolor and tried to create the texture of the frosting, for the wrapper, I used some black to brown tone.

Drawings (Pencil, Felt Tips, Oil Pastels and Pen and Ink)
Our next task was to do 3-4 drawings of cakes.
The first cake I drew was in pencil. I put in a lot of tone to see the dark to light areas.
For the second cupcake, I colored in the cupcake using bright colors, except for the wrapper. I made the wrapper a dark brown and yellow ochre.

The next cupcake I drew was with oil pastels. I first sketched the outline of the wrapper using a light brown, then using an off-white nearly pink color, I made the icing. I put some chocolate chips in it and a cherry on top.
The last cupcake I used pen, then with the paintbrush and some water, I spread it out creating the ink effect.

Still Life (Pencil 6B)
We also had to do an observational drawing of a couple of items in a kitchen. I used a soup bowl, water bottle, electric mixer and a tea pot and cup.
First I drew the outline thinking I would leave it as a contour drawing, but then when I shaded it in, the drawing looked fantastic.

Celebration (Stamps, Water Colors and Sparkles)
Finally, we had to create a picture which was set up for a party, we could choose what we wanted to celebrate. Since this project was given during the winter holidays, I thought I would do a Christmas theme.
I researched on the internet a Christmas theme and got a cartoon picture. I copied it and painted it. It was completely shown as cartoon. Then I added some texture to it. The tree had extra leaves standing out. I added a mince pie. I then added some extra designs using stamps. Since some of the ink was hard to see, I used a black pen and went over it and adding my own ideas.
Then to some of the ornaments on the tree, I covered them with some sparkles to make it stand out.
